At Perranporth RFC we run a highly successful Junior Rugby Program. Rugby is enjoyed by a wide variety of age groups both male and female.

Perranporth Minis Under 7's and Under 8's have been invited to play an exhibition match against Camborne Under 7's and 8's during the half time interval of the Cornish Pirates V Plymouth Albion match on 23rd Dec 2006. This is a great honour and the boys are very much looking forward to this great opportunity.

"This was the U 9/10's first win. They tackled exceptionally well in the last few minutes of the game, while playing uphill in the second half, to maintain their lead and win the match. All games were played in excellent spirit, thanks to our hosts that day who were very friendly. "

"Unfortunately Camborne declined to play Perranporth U9/10's age group. Obviously our boys reputation for skillful rugby goes afor them. A depleted Camborne squad were hosted by Perranporth. Those children and parents who travelled to Perranporth enjoyed some excellent tag rugby and were treated to some fine hospitality. Thank-you to our mums and dads for their help and support. The under 9/10's had a good training session. Our next match is away to Bodmin on 26 Nov. "

Despite cold wet conditions the children enjoyed some fast flowing rugby, demonstrating good ball handling skills despite their numb fingers. Many thanks also to the Perranporth parents who supplied and excellent after match feast for them, and tea/coffee for the supporters.

The children played some impressive rugby today, they really are progressing well. Falmouth provided a friendly atmosphere and the bacon rolls worked a treat after the matches for all who attended. Next main fixture - Launceston away on 7th Jan.

We had an understrenght squad on a very wet and muddy sunday morning. The kids did however enjoy practising sliding in tries in the mud much to coaches and parents discontent.
