Dannys word of the
week - Thur 14th
Another good session last night held by Rob, but I must add while Rob
is doing a great job it is the enthusiasm of all those that are
turning up for training that also make these pre-season nights work
well and enjoyable for all there..... although must say sorry for not
turning up until late!!!
Rob split the forwards and backs up last night after the fitness
session and has started to look at how we should be puting together
some simple but strong and effective moves through both the forwards
and the backs. This seemed to work well and really is a reinforcement
of where we were last season in some ways and someone growling out
'keep it simple you airy arse mongrels...' comes to mind!
Anyway we had sixteen at training last night which is again good but
in total we have 25 different individuals that have turned up since
the starting session, yes it is all being recorded, if your name ain't
on the list you better get you backside down here.....blakie!!
The posts have been taken down and some repairs to the brackets are
necessary as pointed out by an RFU visit. If anyone out there has a
welder and can weld on some new brackets it would be appreciated, let
me know please asap.
Tommy.......I believe you are a dab hand with the brush, fancy some
hammeriting on the posts when repairs finished, sure we can arrange
some help too.
A week saturday is Crediton, first game, a friendly, we will be
fielding a team made up primarily of those that have trained regularly
then those that have not, all will get on the pitch for a half or
there abouts, so turn up with boots, drag a mate along, beer and BBQ
after. Don't forget many will also be hung over as it is Bagsy's
birthday Gin drinking bash the night before down the club so some
along to that too for a good club night.
To next week...
Rob is planning to extend the game play coaching, obviously affter
some fitness work, and bring along a forwards coach friend to help
out. He is keen to come along but this really requires numbers there,
no droppping out now please and it will be a really good session next
week where you will benefit alot.
To let you all know we have new kit coming for both teams, new shorts
and socks too. It is a club policy this year that all players will
wear the correct shorts and socks and these will be available from the
club at a nominal fee.
Also a sponsor for the first team shirts has come forward but we are
still looking for a second team sponsor. If anyone is interested in
getting their company name on the shirts and a sign board to the pitch
then let me know.
Thanks for listening!
